Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using SplitKun ("the App," "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Rahib Uzair Ahmed ("Developer," "we," "us," or "our").

Description of Service

SplitKun is a mobile application designed to help users:

• Track and split expenses with friends, family, and groups
• Scan and process receipts for expense management
• Manage group expenses and settlements
• Receive notifications about shared expenses

The App is currently provided free of charge, though premium features may be introduced in the future.

Eligibility and Account Requirements

Age Requirement

You must be at least 16 years old to use SplitKun. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

Account Registration

• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• One account per person; you may not create multiple accounts

Account Responsibility

You are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your account, whether authorized by you or not.

Acceptable Use

Permitted Uses

You may use SplitKun to:

• Track personal and shared expenses
• Upload receipt images for expense processing
• Create and participate in expense-sharing groups
• Communicate with other users about shared expenses

Prohibited Uses

You agree NOT to:

Image Upload Restrictions

• Upload any images other than legitimate receipts or expense-related documents
• Upload adult, sexual, pornographic, or explicit content
• Upload images containing illegal, harmful, or offensive material
• Upload copyrighted images you do not own or have permission to use
• Upload images containing personal information of others without consent

General Restrictions

• Use the App for any illegal, fraudulent, or unauthorized purpose
• Attempt to hack, reverse engineer, or compromise the App's security
• Upload viruses, malware, or other harmful code
• Impersonate others or provide false information
• Spam or harass other users
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Use the App to collect information about other users without consent

Content Standards

All content you upload or share must be:

• Accurate and truthful
• Your own content or content you have permission to use
• Free from malicious code or harmful elements
• Compliant with applicable laws and these Terms

Intellectual Property

App Ownership

SplitKun, including all software, features, content, and trademarks, is owned by Rahib Uzair Ahmed. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App according to these Terms.

User Content

• You retain ownership of content you upload (receipts, expense information)
• By uploading content, you grant us a license to process, store, and display it as necessary to provide the Service
• You represent that you have the right to upload and share any content you provide

Feedback

Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide about the App may be used by us without compensation or attribution.

Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using SplitKun, you also agree to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Service Availability

Service Access

• We strive to maintain App availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service
• The App may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or technical issues
• We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time

Premium Features

• The App is currently free to use
• We may introduce premium features or subscription plans in the future
• Any premium features will be subject to additional terms and payment requirements
• Free features currently available will remain free unless otherwise notified

Updates

• We may release updates to improve functionality, security, or compliance
• Some updates may be required to continue using the App
• We recommend keeping the App updated to the latest version

User Responsibilities

Accurate Information

• Provide accurate expense and receipt information
• Verify expense details before sharing with groups
• Resolve disputes with other users in good faith

Device Security

• Keep your device secure and up-to-date
• Use secure networks when accessing the App
• Log out of shared devices

Compliance

• Follow all applicable laws when using the App
• Respect other users' privacy and rights
• Report any violations of these Terms

Limitation of Liability

Service Disclaimer

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Liability Limits

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• Our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid for the App (currently $0)
• We are not responsible for disputes between users regarding expenses or payments
• We are not liable for data loss, though we implement reasonable backup measures

Third-Party Services

We are not responsible for any third-party services, websites, or content accessed through the App.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Rahib Uzair Ahmed from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the App
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Any content you upload or share

Account Termination

Termination by You

• You may delete your account at any time through the App or by contacting us
• Account deletion requests are processed within 24 hours
• Data removal follows our Privacy Policy retention schedule

Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Use the App for illegal purposes
• Upload prohibited content
• Engage in harmful behavior toward other users

Effect of Termination

• You lose access to your account and data
• Shared expense information may remain visible to other group members
• These Terms remain in effect for any claims or disputes

Dispute Resolution

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the province where the Developer is located, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Dispute Process

For any disputes:

1. Contact us first at split.dev.kun@gmail.com to attempt resolution
2. If unresolved, disputes will be handled through the courts of competent jurisdiction in Canada
3. You agree to individual claims only; no class action lawsuits

Exceptions

Nothing in this section limits your right to seek injunctive relief or file complaints with regulatory authorities.

Changes to Terms

Updates

We may modify these Terms at any time. When we make changes:

• We'll update the "Last Updated" date
• For significant changes, we'll notify you via email or App notification
• Continued use of the App after changes indicates acceptance

Notification

We'll provide at least 30 days' notice for material changes that affect your rights or obligations.

General Provisions

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full effect.

No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision doesn't waive our right to enforce it later.

Assignment

You may not assign your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights and obligations to any third party.
